Trump impeached, again
The House of Representatives has voted to impeach President Donald Trump for a second time. This action is a condemnation of the President’s role inciting last week’s riot at the US Capitol. Trump has just become the first US president to be impeached twice. The impeachment measure passed largely along party lines, by 232-197, the BBC has reported.
Trump is expected to face a trial in the Senate, where if convicted he could face being barred from ever holding office again. Trump, a Republican is due to leave office on 20 January, following his election defeat last November to Democrat Joe Biden the BBC has said.
