President takes his Cabinet to Linden
President Irfaan Ali has taken his cabinet of ministers to Linden in Region 10, where the officials will be meeting with residents. While the President is leading a team to Linden, Prime Minister Mark Phillips is leading another team of ministers to the remote locations of the region.
In his opening remarks, Regional Chairman Derron Adams gave his commitment and that of the region’s support to the President and his Cabinet in ensuring safeguarding of Guyana’s territorial integrity.
The Chairman also spoke of a number of issues which the residents are affected by including infrastructure, employment, housing, which he expressed the hope that the president would be able to address for the Region.
President Ali in his opening remarks reminded that his government’s only intention is to provide service to the people and assured residents that they don’t only have the commitment of service by the government but the fulfilment of promises made
According to the President, he wants to work with Region 10 and the mining town of Linden to developed the region and said politics should be put aside as the politics ends with elections.
He told the Regional Chairman that he, the Regional Chairman is knocking on doors which are already opened.
Meanwhile, as he addressed residents, President Ali told said it is his wish to increase their disposal income. The President would be moving to the next stage of his out reach where he will be having one on one meetings with persons who have various concerns which needs addressing.
Among those accompanying the President to Linden are Ministers Colin Croal, Kwame McCoy, Dr VIndiya Persaud, Nigel Dharamlall, Anand Persaud, Vickram Bharrat, Charles Ramson, Zulipikar Mustapha, Juan Edghill and Oneidge Waldron
There are also several technical officers attached to the various ministries and agencies who are also present in Linden.
