Officer fingered in sexual harassment of journalist now accused of rape by female cop

A junior female police rank has come forward with an allegation that she was raped by a senior police officer who at the time of the incident was her superior and who she was required to take instructions from. It turns out, the officer is the very person a female journalist leveled sexual harassment claims against two weeks ago.

Commissioner of Police Leslie James on Wednesday confirmed that a second female did come forward with allegations against the police officer and that the female is a member of the Guyana Police Force when he was approached by BIG Smith News Watch.

Earlier this week, this publication was informed that the female rank came forward and provided a statement in relation to the matter. Prior to her coming forward tho, we were told that there were a number of females who had in the past expressed concerns about the alleged inappropriate advanced towards them by the officer. By virtue of the allegations leveled against the officer by the journalist he was, according to Commissioner of Police Leslie James, last week stood down from his normal duties.

Statements were provided in the matter and the investigations are said to be ongoing according to a statement which the police force issued on the night the report made the formal complaint and statement in relation to the matter. In the case of the journalist, it was reported that several officers were informed of the sexual harassment by the senior police officer since last year.

Even as this matter is under investigation, the Guyana Police Force is said to still be conducting an internal probe into allegations that a Deputy Commissioner of Police has been having inappropriate relationships with a number of female ranks of the force among other things.

BIg Smith News Watch has been told that at least one female rank who has a child for the officer has been barred from entering his office. We were told that a few months ago, she was made to sit for hours with the baby as she waited to see the officer who refused to see her, causing her to leave the Police Force headquarters in tears.
