2 weeks in jail for Linden man who hosted private party

Clive Nobrega of Christainburg Wismar, Linden was today sentenced to two weeks’ imprisonment for hosting a private party, thereby breaching the COVID-19 guidelines. The man was on trial for the offence before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Courts.

The private party was held on January 25, last, at Blue Berry Hill, Wismar, Linden. On his first court appearance, he had pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that he breached the restrictions on social activities. Following the not guilty plea, he was granted, $30, 000 bail pending trial.

However, at the conclusion of the trial, the Magistrate found him guilty of the offence and imposed the two weeks’ prison sentence.
