MoHA suffers major defeat in Final Round of Commissioner’s T20 Cricket Competition
In an intense match yesterday, the combined cricket team of Regions 4 ‘A’ and ‘B’ secured a victory over the Ministry of Home Affairs in the final game of Round One of the Commissioner’s T20 Cricket Competition.
The match took place at the Police Sports Club Ground.
The combined team batted first, setting a target of 122 runs from 20 overs.
Notable contributions came from T. Drakes, who scored 22 runs, with J. Fordyce and W. Donald adding 16 and 15 runs, respectively.
The Ministry of Home Affairs’ bowlers Parmesh Parsotam and Ryan Ramlall managed to take two wickets each.
However, the Ministry of Home Affairs struggled to chase the target, faltering under the combined team’s strong bowling attack and ultimately being bowled out for 74 runs in 17.1 overs. Orlando Persaud was the only batsman to reach double figures, scoring 29 runs.
O. Venture led the bowling for Regions 4 ‘A’ and ‘B’, taking 4 wickets for 20 runs off 4 overs. D. LaRose and O. Douglas also contributed, taking 2 wickets each.
The competition continues today with Round Two at the Police Sports Club Ground, where Regions 4 ‘A’ and ‘B’ will face off against the Presidential Guards at 1:00 PM.
