Miner held for suspected rape/murder of Venezuelan woman in Region Seven
Police have detained a suspect in connection with the murder on Friday, September 22, of 28-year-old Venezuelan national Estephanie Garcias at Kaikan, Region Seven.
Big Smith News Watch was told that the suspect is from the same area and is an associate of the murdered woman’s spouse, who is at present in Venezuela.
Police found Estephanie Garcia’s body, which bore two puncture wounds on the neck, on the floor of her one-bedroom house.
Her t-shirt was pulled above her breasts and her underwear had beenpulled down.
The victim had lived alone in a in a wooden cottage at Kaikan with her reputed husband, ElvisTrotman, who left for Venezuela on Thursday, September 21, and her three Children.
At about 07:30 a.m. on Friday September 22, the three children left for Kaikan Primary School, leaving Estephanie Garcias at home alone.
On their return from school at about 4:30 p.m., the children found their mother lying motionless on the floor with what appeared to be blood around her neck.
Neighbours contacted the police and the body was taken to the Kaikan Health Centre.
