A 40-year-old man who is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl has been charged and released on $150,000 bail. Collin Venture appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday. He was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which alleged that during September 2020 at a location in Georgetown, he engaged in sexual penetration with a child under the age of 16.
The Chief Magistrate granted Venture bail in the sum of $150,000 with the condition that he report to the Police Station until the hearing and determination of the matter. According to information, Venture who is a friend of the teenager’s father would normally visit the location where the teen would be with her dad.
