Lennox Cush shifts gear in ‘all-rounder’ approach
Guyana businessman and former all rounder cricketer Lennox Cush has embarked on an initiative to ensure that children, especially those in the Campbellville area receive assistance in a number of areas going forward.
Cush who operates the Star Party Rental Service in Campbellville, his childhood community has vowed to ensure that children receive the necessary assistance as far as applicable that would see them completing the full school cycle.
He was at the time addressing parents and children who attended a back to school distribution exercise Sunday afternoon at his Craig Street business office.
“This is a community business and we want to be able to start from the grass root level in assisting the children in areas of academics, sports, trade, entrepreneurship and whatever else we can as far as practicable” Cush told BIG Smith Crime Watch in an interview.
He said that many of the opportunities that he wants to give to children are not opportunities that he had and that makes it even more important for him.
At Sunday’s event Cush also interacted with some parents and also indicated to them that Star Party Rental will also be looking to see how best it can partner with other persons to address the issue of medical assistance where necessary children.
He however indicated that it will not be an easy task but once all the necessary systems are put in place and the right sets of people are engaged, the initiative of working more closely with the community will be rolled out. A number of school bags were distributed at Sunday’s activity.
“We have been supporting cricket, football and now we want to make this initiative with working with the community an annual one” the businessman stated.
He said that the community has been very supportive of the operations of Star Party Rental and that has been one of the main reasons for the successes of the company coupled with the commitment of the staff.
