BREAKING: Body believed to be Anisa Miguel found in Mazaruni River

By Michael Jordan

Region Seven police are in the process of retrieving what they say is the body of a so far unidentified woman from the Mazaruni River. The body is believed to be that of 19-year-old Anisa Miguel, who has been missing for some nine days.

This was confirmed to Big Smith News Watch by Commander Dion Moore.

The teenage mom vanished on Friday, June 17 from Martin’s Landing, Region Seven.

An eyewitness says the body found on Sunday is clad in a white top and blue pants which matches the last outfit Anisa was seen wearing.

Anisa and two co-workers were last seen at a bar.

The teen, who has a four-year-old son, is employed as a cleaner at a Tamakay Landing, Region Seven boutique and bar, some 40 minutes away by boat from Martin’s landing.

The missing teen and two female co-workers had travelled by boat to Martin’s Landing to sell perfumes and other items for their employer.

It is alleged that they visited an entertainment spot at Martin’s Landing, where the young woman consumed alcoholic beverages.

It is alleged that they were all intoxicated when the boat operator returned to take them back to their workplace.

Out of concern for their safety, the boatman reportedly refused to let them travel, and the woman who owns the entertainment spot reportedly said she would ‘take care’ of the young women.

There are reports that the woman took Anisa to a room to rest.

According to one report, the friends last saw Anisa dancing with a young man at the entertainment spot. They allegedly never saw her after that.

Police have since detained the female bar owner, a male relative of hers and the two young women.
