Brazilian arrested after landing plane with cocaine in Guyana's interior

Two Foreign Nationals were on Sunday taken into the custody of the Guyana Police Force after they illegally landed a Plane-N5470Z on an airstrip in Mahdia, Region 8.

The names of the two nationals were given to BIG Smith News Watch as Rodrigues Conan Andres Estiven and Mathuis Kinicius P. Cellwito.

The plane is under police inspection at an Airstrip in Region 8 as the bulky parcels containing the cocaine can be seen close by. 

According to information reaching this publication, the police were also able to confiscate sixteen parcels of cocaine which is said to weigh just about 600 pounds or a little more. Guyanese law enforcement officers recovered and took into their possession, one satellite Phone, 2 GPS and 2 mobile phones which investigators are currently analyzing.

Coming from sources within Region 8, BIG Smith News Watch was told that the piolet of a local domestic plane was in the vicinity when he noticed the strange aircraft preparing to land at the airstrip.

The pilot of the local domestic airline contacted air traffic control and law enforcement was quickly scrambled to the area where they intercepted the plane with the two foreign nationals.

Both of the men are licensed pilots and we were told that at least of them might be a serving member of an arm of law enforcement in Brazil.

On Sunday evening, the two men were flown into the city from the Remote Region 8 area under heavy police and soldier guard as they were escorted to the Criminal Investigation Department, Eve Leary.
